Jack-o-Lantern Potage Leftovers

Welcome back, Dungeon Meshi Maniacs!  I have to admit I'm surprised to be writing this.  See, I had no idea what to actually write about this week!  We didn't eat a special monster and what's left to say about pumpkins that hasn't already been said?  I mean, do you really need to hear that turnips were originally used to make Jack-o-Lanterns for the hundredth time?  If you didn't already know that please consult your local library! Then it hit me. "Nih, you weirdly shaped even for a slime type slime, the second week is called Leftovers. Why not talk about Leftovers itself?"  That's right!  It's the long overdue celebration of leftovers itself.  And what makes better leftovers than soup?  Pull up a chair and turn on the stove, DMM's.  It's time to finish some Jack-o-Lantern Potage!

I don't keep it secret, DMM's. I LOVE leftovers!  When you only cook for a family of two and most modern recipes are set for families of 9 you end up with a lot of leftovers.Yes, I could just scale back the recipe but I'm a very lazy slime.  But this is great for me!  It means lunch is taken care of and, if you're lucky, another dinner or two!  NIH BACKSTORY TIME! Once in the way before I was having a chat with a long lost friend.  See, he loved fast food.  Thought that going through a drive-thru was the height of cuisine.  Now I'm not one to say fast food is bad food at all.  This blog is not a food shame blog.  Eat whatever makes you happiest.  Also, I love going through a drive-thru!  No, my arguments were cooking at home is cheaper and you get more than one meal.  We had long discussions about the cost in cooking vs. eating out which had plenty of fine points to argue over.  But on my second point my friend said something that made no sense. "Don't you get sick of eating the same thing more than one day in a row?"  Absolute nonsense, DMM's. Get tired of food?  I have a peanut butter sandwich every lunch.  Am I tired of peanut butter?  No!  Do I think of the peanut butter sandwich I could have had if I have anything else?  You better believe it!  "Don't you get tired of the same foods?"  My friend was clearly wild and insane.  I do not debate wild and insane people, DMMs!

What's not wild and insane is the pumpkin soup we made last week!  It was one of the best dishes I've made so far.  If you followed my suggestion from last week you also froze some for later.  I did and now it's time to thaw it out.  Just put the frozen block into a pot and put the heat low.  You don't want to scorch things.

Okay, you could easily just eat this like a soup popsicle.  I'm not saying it won't be fantastic.  Just not what I'm looking for.  Once the soup gets to the heat you want you're done!  Yes, I just wrote a blog on how to reheat soup!  Aren't you glad you took the time to read this?

What?  You want something a little more the soup?  Okay, okay.  I hear you.  This soup goes great with crusty bread so add some!

Perfecto!  That's it for this week, DMMs. I'll see you all next wee...wait, I'm being told that in this chapter Senshi was exposed as a Half-foot racist by thinking 29 year old Chilchuck was a child and tried to explain the birds and the bees to him despite Chil being a deadbeat dad with like uncounted abandoned children.

If you want to hear more you can always check out another Dungeon Meshi fan blog.  Wait.  Do not check out another Dungeon Meshi fan blog.  And even if you do be sure to come back to this one next week when we are going to be eating a brick!
