Hot Succubus Milk Leftovers

 Welcome back, Dungeon Meshi Maniacs.  Are you mad?  I may have implied that we were in for sexy times last week and it was just mosquitos and warm milk.  Hardly what some would call steamy prose.  Granted we did learn how to make very yummy hot milk drinks!  Which is the same as having sex, right?  Right?  Okay, okay.  I hear you, DMMs.  You're all sex perverts and want to hear about the real thing.  Let's talk all things succubi!

Let's get one thing clear, there are no tricks this week.  We will be discussing sex and what happens during sex.  So if that's not something you want to read then feel free to skip this week.  We'll be back next week with a "normal" dish that you won't want to miss!  Everyone else that is left please pass the permission slips your parents filled out for you to attend this talk forward.  So, what is a succubus?  The easy answer is they are a demon that visits you during the night that will eventually have sex with you.  There are two types, female versions are the Succubus while the male version is the Incubus.

Ask your grandparents, kids.  Believe it or not there is a reason for the difference beyond heteronormative sexual beliefs.  You see, according to the demonology experts no demon has genitals. Same for angels! Heck, the idea that succubi and incubi are "sexy" is a farily newer belief.  They used to be described as more monstrous and not a hot lady with a slight tail.  So no genitals means no procreation.  Demons still want to have kids which means they had to find a way around the missing plumbing, DMMs.  You see, the Succubi and incubi worked together!  No, not at the same time.  The succubus would get a man to climax, gather up the semen and pass it along to an incubus.  The incubus would then quickly visit a woman and impregnate her with the stolen seed!  Time was a factor here, DMMs. I assume the succubus would visit fairly early?  The resulting child was called a Cambion.  And there are very famous cambions throughout history and fiction from Merlin the wizard to Rumi the Huntrix!

The crossover everyone is demanding, DMMs! I'm still not sure how this kid is part demon when the sperm is from a human...well....donor but I didn't write the book on demons.  That would be this guy.

King James VI & I jumpscare!  King James VI of Scotland and also King James I of England.  I'm sure I don't need to go into great detail about King James since I'm told most DMMs are big Jamesheads so we will skip over a lot of what he is known for and focus on one of his single biggest contribution to history.  His absolute obsession with all things witches and demons lead to some interesting things.  He personally presided over witch trials and even wrote the Daemonologie.

 This is a three volume series of all things demon, DMMs!  King James felt compelled to write it because another Scotsman wrote a paper about how it's kinda weird that we all believe in witches when there isn't any actual evidence for them.  Demons and witches were real and King James was going to tell the people!  Our western canon of what demons are and how they operate was written by a King and it's supposed to be a good read!  King James put his whole ass into this, even writing it in a form that would entertaining to read for the time!  But what about actual proof of succubi and incubi?  They predated the Daemonologie so where could it have started?  Like all things that hold you down in the night, they are a great explanation for night paralysis.  I do have to admit being held down by a hot demon is better than being crushed by a mean one.

Another origin for the succubus belief is an explanation for wet dreams.  As the song goes, every sperm is sacred in the Catholic faith so why would one willingly sin in their pajamas?  Simple, a succubus did it.  You may not be at fault but you should still get help because madness usually follows a succubus visit.  Incubi are a little more fraught.  You see, more cultures have a form of Incubus than a Succubus.  It may not always be a demon but there are a lot of supernatural beasts the impregnate women at night.  The going theory why this is?  As a cover for rape, unfortunately.  Very sad especially to blame it on a fictional monster that had nothing to do with it.

Let's move on to something a bit happier before closing out, DMMs.  One thing I found out about succubi is men of the era were selfish lovers!  The most evil thing a succubus could do is force a man to go down on her.  This was one of the worst things a succubus could do to a man!  Yes, the men of the times feared having to please their ladies.  What they heck, past men?  History is judging you...harshly!
