Mandrake Kakiage and Big Bat Tempura Leftovers

Happy Food Day, Dungeon Meshi Maniacs!  It is possible that one of my three fans does not live in the USA so maybe I should explain.  Every 4th Thursday in the month of November is the day the people of the US come together to get as much food as possible then spend the next three days trying to digest.  It's a grand day one made even better when you come to talk about a cooking based manga.  Doubly so if that cooking based manga happens to take place in a dungeon!

This is the chapter where we answer the important "so what does Chilchuck actually bring to the party" question. Small guy, big pack, carres burglars tools....it's a real headscratcher.  Turns out he is the Thief of the party!  Please hold your shocked gasps.

I do like the fact that he is just too light to set off most traps.  That does make up for being nearly 30 but looking like he is 14!  But the thing I want to talk about is what happens next.  Chilchuck tells people exactly where to step which the party does succeed except for Senshi.

Which sets the trap off AT CHILCUCK!

Let's look at the facts. Senshi lives in the dungeon.  He should know what traps are and what setting them off means.  In theory he would have enough knowledge to see what triggers set what traps off.  So...did Senshi mean to kill Chilchuck with this trap?  Seems pretty suspect to me!  Yes, anyone can screw up in a dungeon.  We've all rolled a 1 a time or two.  But what happens immediately after setting off the first trap?

HE SETS OFF ANOTHER TRAP!  And wouldn't you know who is under that trap?

It sure ain't Laois or Marcille, I can tell you that.  Is Senshi clumsy, stupid or filled with murderous intent?  Does he know that Chilchuck is a terrible father and striking a blow for the neglected children?  Or is Senshi a lummox just barreling through the dungeon without a care to the safety of others?  These are questions you should bring up while with family today.  I swear it will be the most engaging conversation you'll have all meal!

That's it for this week, DMMs.  Be sure to come back next week as we try to eat solid steel?
