Surprise, surprise, DMM's! I've been thinking and I really wanted to be writing something weekly rather than every other. What held me back originally was that I didn't want to burn through this project along with the difficulty in acquiring certain ingredients. So the leftovers will be an update where I focus on aspects of the volume I just cooked. Maybe a part that really interested me or some of the weirder aspects. Speaking of, this chapter really gave us a glimpse into the psyche of the dwarf, the myth, the legend, Senshi!
There it is, DMM's! Senshi's 3 laws to health. I love how simplistic but complicated they are! First, improve your diet. Great advice, everyone could eat better. But HOW!? Even in the "real world" improving your diet can be both cost and time prohibitive. Being a poor adventurer stuck in a dungeon? You can't blame them for easy take out.I will give the guy some credit, he really knows the importance of a balanced diet!
Second, regulate your daily rhythms. I'll admit...when I first read this my mind immediately went to..well...bathroom stuff. Which, hey, if everything is working properly then a regular predictable movement is great! But he probably meant bedtime. This is another simple but difficult one. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. If you're an adventurer with no children this should be a snap! Unless you're constantly in a living dungeon crawling with monsters and no real way to tell the passage of time.
Third, moderate exercise. Ugh, we can all use with more exercise. Unfortunately they show the 10,000 steps myth. Good news is, that's a fair amount of walking! The bad news is there's no evidence that 10,000 steps is a magic number. The guy that came up with it just pulled the number out of thin air. Still, it's better than nothing! You'd expect that an active adventurer is getting plenty of exercise already what with all the fighting, running and high stress.
I was going to talk about Laios' interest into the Multi-Monsters...but I know that some of the fives and fives of DMM's are following the anime rather than the manga so let's just avoid spoilers.
That's it for this week, Dungeon Meshi Maniacs. The reheated roast basilisk has been picked clean and all we have now are dirty dishes. Time to clean up and plan the next dish. Be sure to come back next week when we cook the best kind of fried chicken along with a NOT POSIONOUS version of a poisonous root!
